BREXIT

Brexit means (British + exit) = Brexit. 

It means that the UK (UNITED KINGDOM) is leaving the EU (EUROPEAN UNION).

A public vote (called referendum) was held in June 2016. 17,4 million people opted for Brexit. 

On Friday 31st January 2020, UK formally leaves the EU.
